NTUA’s “Mineral and Mining Engineering” Field Ranked 51-100 Worldwide

The Mineral and Mining Engineering field of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), which is exclusively represented by the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, was ranked among the top 51–100 worldwide in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 (https://www.ntua.gr/el/news/item/5279-enisxymeni-diethnis-parousia-tou-emp-sta-qs-world-university-rankings-by-subject-2026). The School overcame technical issues that had previously kept it outside the top 100 in this ranking, allowing its strong international standing – already well recognized within the discipline- to be properly reflected.

Overall, NTUA achieved the 134th position worldwide, with two engineering disciplines, Civil and Structural Engineering and Mineral and Mining Engineering, ranked within the 51–100 band. Although the exact ranking order within the 51–100 range is not officially published, based on the overall score, NTUA’s Mineral and Mining Engineering field is estimated to rank between 66th and 68th place, tied with Yonsei University in South Korea and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong.

It is also worth noting that several scientific fields in which the School is active are likewise included in the rankings, such as Environmental Sciences (ranked 151–200), Geophysics (ranked 201–250—possibly a field in which the School is the only NTUA school significantly involved), and Materials Science (ranked 251–300).
