Special Chapters in Ore Deposit Geology

Geological Structure of mainland Greece (pre-Alpine and Alpine system-structure) and discrimination between Internal and External Geotectonic zones – units. Major Greek metallogenic provinces, focused on the most important Greek mineral resources and deposits (e.g. chromite, bauxite, Ni-laterites, precious, base and strategic metals, industrial minerals, fossil fuels). Correlation of Greek metallogenic provinces with the geologic, geodynamic and geotectonic evolution of Greece, and how these processes led to the creation of the Greek mineral resources and deposits. Insights in future research for mineral deposits based on the geology and geologic evolution of Greece. Basic concepts of special techniques related to ore deposit research (e.g. stable and radiogenic isotopes), as well as contemporary analytical techniques facilitating mineral exploration.
