Dr. Eleni Vasileiou, is Research and Teaching Staff of Environmental Hydrogeology and application in Mining, in the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering since 2014.

She also participates as teaching staff to the School of Civil Engineering of NTUA and to the Inter-Departmental Program of Post-graduate Studies in the scientific field “Water Resources Science and Technology” of NTUA. She is also a teaching collaborator with the Agricultural University of Athens, for the Postgraduate Program entitled: ”Development of Environmental Planning, Infrastructure Projects and Prevention of Natural Hazards". She is teaching 4 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate lessons. She obtained her PhD in 2011, working on Environmental hydrogeological issues concerning mining activities. During her Master thesis, she focused on heavy metals groundwater pollution and the impacts of water rock interaction on groundwater quality and groundwater interacting with anthropogenic activities. Her main research interests are Environmental Hydrogeology, Groundwater Engineering, Water Quality and Vulnerability of aquifers, Mine water management, Environmental pressures, DPSIR and SWOT analysis, Hydro-geo-chemical Modeling, Water Resources Management, Risk Assessment of Water Resources, Rehabilitation of post mining areas, Hydro-geochemistry, Water rock-soil interaction, microplastics in waters, Land Uses and Water quality, Climate changes and water resources, Modeling of groundwater pollution.

She has participated as a research team member in 42 National Research projects and European projects all involved with water resources and geoenvironment, in 30 of them as Principal Researcher. She has 87 publications in journals and Proceedings of Conferences and 6 book chapters in books (h-index =11, >500 citations).
