Dr. Stavros Deligiannis is Laboratory and Teaching Staff at the Physical Metallurgy Laboratory and the Center for Electron Microscopy, at the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (SMME-NTUA).

He holds a Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering (2013) and a Ph.D. in the field of Physical Metallurgy and Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis on the topic of "Development of high strength – low alloy (HSLA) steels, based on combined titanium-vanadium microalloying additions". His research interests focus on Physical Metallurgy, Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis, with emphasis on the thermomechanical processing of metallic materials, their mechanical properties, and their correlation with micro- and nanostructural characteristics.

To date, he has contributed to three HORIZON 2020 and HORIZON EUROPE projects and published in international journals as well as in international and national conferences. In 2018, the Microscopy Society of America awarded him for his publication on the characterization of HSLA steels with transmission electron microscopy techniques.
